Read the rating. Understand the limits.

Specifications · Guidance revision 8 October 2026

Micron size, water-holding capacity and flow describe different things. Here is how to use them without overstating performance.

Use the specification for the supplied range

Kleenoil South Africa uses the UK specification basis for its listed range. Specifications on individual product pages take precedence over general marketing statements. Do not substitute figures from a different regional range, housing or cartridge.

Particle size is not a complete efficiency statement

A micron figure alone does not establish removal efficiency across all particle sizes or test conditions. Where an efficiency curve or test method is needed for procurement, request it for the exact assembly. Do not turn a general particle-size claim into an absolute rating or an ISO cleanliness guarantee.

Capacity is not removal rate

A stated water-holding capacity describes an approximate quantity retained by an element. It is not litres per hour, a guaranteed final water concentration or an allowance for continuing water ingress. Fluid chemistry, temperature and contamination form matter.

Specify the whole assembly

Check the housing, valves, hoses, seals and connections together. A fitting's rating does not establish the rating of a complete installation. Dimensions shown as unconfirmed must not be used to design brackets or service clearances.

  • Exact part and variant reference
  • Fluid and seal compatibility
  • Operating limits and test basis where available
  • Service access and final supplied configuration
