How Kleenoil works

Why bypass filtration

Full-flow protects the circuit. Bypass filtration protects the oil.

A small side-stream moves slowly through dense cellulose media. That lower flow creates time and surface area to capture fine wear particles and absorb water without interrupting the machine’s main lubrication circuit.

01Runs alongside the OEM filter
02Does not strip the oil’s additive package
03Supports condition-based oil changes
Water out

Control corrosion, acids and oxidation by removing the moisture conventional filtration misses.

Particles down

Reduce the fine contamination that circulates in the critical clearances between moving components.

Reliability up

Cleaner oil supports longer component life, fewer interventions and more predictable maintenance.

Waste down

Use less new oil and generate less waste oil, subject to oil analysis and application conditions.

What to verify before installation

Keep the primary filter

A bypass circuit treats a small side stream. It complements the machine’s full-flow system; it is not a substitute for the manufacturer’s lubrication requirements.

Match the fluid and hardware

Confirm viscosity, operating temperature, pressure, flow restrictions, seals and hose compatibility. Polypropylene cartridges for water-based fluids are not interchangeable with cellulose oil elements.

Measure the result

Take a baseline sample and agree on follow-up testing. Appearance alone cannot establish oil condition, additive health or a safe drain interval.

Selection and maintenance decisions must account for the specific machine, fluid and operating conditions.

Technical resources & FAQs

*Published manufacturer guidance indicates filtration to 3 microns, water removal up to 99.5%, and potential oil-life extensions up to 5× for engines and 10× for hydraulic systems. Results depend on application, contamination load, maintenance and oil-analysis results. Kleenoil complements rather than replaces OEM full-flow filtration. Read our technical guidance.
